Our Family After 10 Years

our family :)
My husband and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary Monday last week.  As expected, my husband didn't have anything planned for our special day (Lol!), but although we didn't go on a fancy date or had an alone time together, it was fine by me.  I did cook food for the family then we went to the mall to treat the kids to an hour of play at their favorite game arcade after dropping by at church.  It was more of like a celebration for our family more than just for the 2 of us.  Our wedding anniversary not just marked our union together as man and wife but the start of our family's journey.

So what has happened to our family after 10 years?  Well, my husband and I still argue about the same stuff and I spank my kids occasionally for the same offenses.  Same old, same old.  We still experience the same trials and thankfully get through it by God's grace, and we celebrate all the happy moments in our family life and cherish them.  My husband and I have have gone through a lot of tough times but I'm thankful that we've surpassed all those trials and learned a thing or two from them.  After 10 years, our family life and marriage is nothing close to perfection, but I'm proud to say that we're happy for what we are and for what we have right now.

Through those trying times that came to us, our family has learned a lot of valuable things: we learned to rely on God first and foremost for all of our needs and trust in Him all the time.  We learned the value of saving and of being frugal.  We learned to pray together at church, every meal and before going to bed.  We learned to dream together and work for the fulfillment of it as a family.  And most importantly, despite challenges that come, we learned to laugh together and be happy at all times.  :)
