Mr. Esperanza Yu, ASCOF's Natural Super Mom of the Year

SM Southmall's winner, Mrs. Esperanza Yu, was declared as ASCOF's Natural Super Mom of the year. She was truly humbled and touched with this recognition she received after all of the struggles she encountered of being a single mom.  She felt that she didn't deserve this award after getting to know the other mom winners' stories and knowing that there are other moms out there who face more difficult challenges than what she had already gone through, but still she was honored to receive this award and dedicated it to all the mothers who selflessly give themselves to their families, especially to their children.  A cash prize of Php50,000.00 was given to Mrs. Yu and Php7,000.00 was also awarded to her daughter.

CRUSH Managing Director, Mr. Rod Nepomuceno
Managing Director of CRUSH Communications Philippines, Rod Nepomuceno, who is the brainchild for the Natural Super Mom search (and is also admittedly a "mama's boy"), proudly mused that his mother was the inspiration for this project.  Knowing the great sacrifice that all moms give to nurture and provide for their families, he thought that honoring mothers should not just happen once a year on Mother's Day but should last for months.  If beauty pageants are given attention and are celebrated for months, Mr. Nepomuceno thought that we should do the same for our mothers.  For him, mothers are very important and deserve more than just a celebration on Mother's Day.  So he then shared this idea to a former classmate, Ms. Agnes Moulic (who is the Marketing Director for Pascual Consumer Healthcare Corp.), and the rest is history.

"Motherhood makes a woman even more beautiful than she already is." - Cong. Lucy Torres-Gomez
Being a natural probinsyana and growing up to natural means of healing (like bathing with water with boiled guava leaves to heal wounds) Cong. Lucy Torres-Gomez truly believes in the natural power of healing that is why she didn't have second thoughts on becoming the brand ambassador for ASCOF Lagundi.  Being able to balance her role as mother to Juliana, television personality and public servant, Lucy herself is also a natural super mom.  She finds motherhood as a very fulfilling role and that it makes a woman even more beautiful than she already is, which I totally agree with.

It was truly an honor to be a part of this momentous occasion.  It was a touching moment for all the mom finalists and was emotional at some point when the recognition was being given to all of them, especially to Mrs. Yu, who was declared the grand winner.  I and a fellow blogger were also teary-eyed witnessing this joyous moment for the moms of being recognized for the love and support they gave and are continually giving to their families and to their children.  I guess we really tend to become emotional when it comes to acknowledging the sacrifices of our mothers and we as mothers give to our children and family.

Kudos to CRUSH Communication Philippines and Pascual Laboratories for a successful event and for honoring all the mothers out there in a very unique and special way!
