While we teach our little ones to draw and color and our older kids to do craft projects, there’s one other thing that we can teach them to do that they will surely treasure, and that is to have them make their own dream book.
| in my dream book: an outdoor furniture I'd love have to have in our backyard |
| places I'd love to travel to and visit with my family |
A dream book is simply a collection of cut-out photos or drawings of things that you dream of having, like the car that you’d want to own and drive, your dream house, places that you’d want to visit, gadget you’d like to own, etc. I did mine a couple of years ago on a clear book with cut-out pictures of my dream houses, the outdoor furniture I want in my backyard, places I want to travel to with my family and other exotic things. I also dream of buying a farm ranch for my parents and so I had this cut-out picture of a rattan garden furniture with a backdrop of a vast farmland and rolling hills. It would be a nice spot to rest and relax while enjoying the fresh air in the farm, don’t you think?

I’ve always believed in empowering our children and teaching them that they can be and have what they want thru faith and positive thinking and with having their own dream book, we will definitely help our children clearly visualize the things that they would want to have and achieve.
Sit down with your children and ask them what they want from life. Like if they want to be a straight A student, have them paste on a scrapbook their own picture with a cut-out picture of a medal or a ribbon and probably a caption noted under the photo that says, “I’m a straight A student!” You can also have them include cut-out pictures or drawings of where they would want to go on a vacation with the family or what dream house they’d like the family to have. It will surely be fun picturing how they would want their dream bedroom to look like or what luxury garden furniture they would want to have on the family’s garden. Then have them look at the photos at their dream book every single day before they go to bed and as soon as they wake up with faith that they will have their dreams.
This will definitely be a bonding activity that will help you get to know your child more and also help them become inspired to achieve their goals.
