Have Your Child Make Their Own Dreambook

While we teach our little ones to draw and color and our older kids to do craft projects, there’s one other thing that we can teach them to do that they will surely treasure, and that is to have them make their own dream book.
in my dream book: an outdoor furniture I'd love have to have in our backyard
places I'd love to travel to and visit with my family
A dream book is simply a collection of cut-out photos or drawings of things that you dream of having, like the car that you’d want to own and drive, your dream house, places that you’d want to visit, gadget you’d like to own, etc. I did mine a couple of years ago on a clear book with cut-out pictures of my dream houses, the outdoor furniture I want in my backyard, places I want to travel to with my family and other exotic things. I also dream of buying a farm ranch for my parents and so I had this cut-out picture of a rattan garden furniture with a backdrop of a vast farmland and rolling hills. It would be a nice spot to rest and relax while enjoying the fresh air in the farm, don’t you think?

Mom Bloggers for Social Good's Very First Partner Campaign

Having my blog as a medium to spread word about advocacies and other initiatives is indeed a privilege, and I'm so happy and proud to be one of the founding members of Mom Bloggers for Social Good, a group of mom bloggers in 11 countries that helps spread the word thru social media and blogging about advocacy campaigns, fundraising efforts and such of non-profit organizations and NGOs all over the world. The group was officially launched on Monday, January 9, 2012.

A few days after the launch, we now have our first ever campaign. Wow!  One of our partners, Healthy Child Healthy World, is in search this year for a "Mom on a Mission".  From January through August, Healthy Child will select and honor one finalist each month; in September and October, the general public will vote to choose the winner, who will become the 2012 Mom on a Mission grand prize winner and will be honored at a gala event in New York City in November.  If you know a mom who is on a mission, nominate them now by visiting http://www.healthychild.org/mission.

About Healthy Child Healthy World:
Celebrating its 20th anniversary year, Healthy Child Healthy World began in 1992 after five-year-old Colette Chuda died of a rare form of non-hereditary cancer linked to environmental factors. Playing a leadership role in one of the most important public health and environmental movements of the 21st century, today Healthy Child Healthy World ignites the movement that empowers parents to protect children from harmful chemicals. An Early Birthday Greeting from UNICEF

I'm turning 33 on the 21st of this month - yey!  I don't mind adding a number to my age every year because I know I'm given by God another full year to be a blessing to others, especially to my family and children. Well, yesterday I received an early birthday greeting thru the mail from UNICEF Philippines.  I guess this is something that they send out to all those who support their cause on their birthdays.  Thanks so much UNICEF for remembering my special day! :)

Our Grand Family Reunion

The family is one of nature's masterpieces. ~George Santayana, The Life of Reason

It's been years since I last saw some of my relatives, especially those who are living outside of the country and it's not like everyday that I get to see those who are just here, that is why it was such a blessing to finally have a family reunion of our whole clan.  Well, there were still those who weren't present but I had the chance to see some of them last year when they had their vacation and when a relative passed away, while some had school, work and other stuff to attend to.  Still, it was a very successful reunion and fun day for all of us.

First Day of 2012

Happy 2012!  Well, it's kinda late to be greeting you all a happy new year since it's been almost 2 weeks that we welcomed 2012, but anyways, the year is still fresh so I guess a new year greeting is still fitting (I'm just making excuses for myself because of my late new year post. Lol!).

My family and I just hanged out in Nuvali and in the nearby commercial center at Paseo de Sta. Rosa in Laguna on the first day of 2012.  We didn't feel like going to crowded places like amusement parks (last year we went to Enchanted Kingdom) so we just took the kids and the grandpa (my dad) out to dine and stroll around.

mi familia :)
